  • Late Quaternary evolution of piedmont faults in the Darjeeling-Sikkim Himalaya, India

    Open Access•Atul Kumar Singh, Kimi K Basumatary et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2026•Referencias: 83

  • A Terrestrial record of ∼3000 years of extreme floods from the Kaveri and adjacent river basins, Tamil Nadu, India

    Open Access•Mahadev, Mahadev Mahadev et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2025•Citada por: 1

  • Changes in the magnitude and frequency of Holocene monsoon floods on the Mahi River, western India with special reference to Anthropocene

    Open Access•Pramodkumar S Hire, Gitanjali W Bramhankar et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2025•Citada por: 1

  • Palaeoclimatic shifts in the Central Ganga Basin during the Middle- to Late Holocene

    Open Access•Sreya Sengupta, Anil K Gupta et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2024•Citada por: 2•Referencias: 10

The Central Ganga Basin is one of the most densely populated regions of India. It is agriculturally diverse and contributes much to the Indian economy. The region has housed numerous ancient and mediaeval empires. This study presents a continuous record of the paleomonsoon from the Chandrika Devi lake, Lucknow district of Uttar Pradesh, India which is linked with paleo vegetational shifts over the last ~6000 years (5871–75 cal yr BP). The chronol…

  • Indian monsoon variability during the past 600 years

    Open Access•Arun Kaushik, Anil K Gupta et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2024

  • Luminescence chronology of late-Holocene palaeofloods in the upper Kaveri basin, India

    Open Access•Kartika Goswami, Mahadev Rawat et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2019•Citada por: 3•Referencias: 5

Instrumental/historic records have helped to understand the extreme flood–climate relationship in the modern environment; however, few studies are available to understand their long-term relation (10 2 –10 3 years) due to the poor preservation and lack of dating techniques. It remains uncertain whether extreme flooding is linked with long-term wet phases of climate or a random event caused by an unusual downpour irrespective of climate. Luminesce…

  • The Toba tephra as a late Quaternary stratigraphic marker

    Open Access•K Geethanjali, Geethanjali K et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2019•Citada por: 5•Referencias: 9

  • Middle to late Holocene paleochannels and migration of the Palar River, Tamil Nadu

    Open Access•M R Resmi, Hema Achyuthan et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2017

  • Variability of Indian monsoonal rainfall over the past 100 ka and its implication for C 3 –C 4 vegetational change

Open Access•Shailesh Agrawal, Prasanta Sanyal et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2012

Oxygen and carbon isotope ratios of soil carbonate and carbon isotope ratios of soil organic matter (SOM) separated from three cores, Kalpi, IITK and Firozpur, of the Ganga Plain, India are used to reconstruct past rainfall variations and their effect on ambient vegetation. The δ 18 O values of soil carbonate (δ 18 O SC ) analyzed from the cores range from −8.2 to −4.1‰. Using these variations in δ 18 O SC values we are able, for the first time, …

  • Fashion and phases of late Pleistocene aggradation and incision in the Alaknanda River Valley, western Himalaya, India

    Open Access•Pradeep Srivastava, Jayant K Tripathi et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2008

We study the aggradation and incision of the Alaknanda River Valley during the late Pleistocene and Holocene. The morphostratigraphy in the river valley at Deoprayag shows the active riverbed, a cut terrace, and a fill terrace. The sedimentary fabric of the fill terrace comprises four lithofacies representing 1) riverbed accretion, 2) locally derived debris fan, 3) the deposits of waning floods and 4) palaeoflood records. The sedimentation style,…
