  • Middle Pleistocene (MIS 12) deglaciation in the border region of Poland, Ukraine and Belarus

Open Access•Anna Orlowska, Leszek Marks et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2026

  • Radiocarbon dates from deposits sampled at the Vistula Spit canal excavation (Southern Baltic coast, Poland)

Open Access•Krzysztof Ninard, Anna Hrynowiecka et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2025•References: 17

We report new AMS radiocarbon dates of 16 samples from the Holocene deposits of the Vistula Spit, a large coastal barrier landform on the Southern Baltic coast. Collection of the samples was conducted directly from the sedimentary succession excavated during 2020–2022 construction of the Vistula Spit shipping canal. The dated material represents several paleosol horizons and peat lenses buried in the dune deposits, as well as their substrate – be…

  • Late Saalian climatic oscillations – revision of pollen record in Poland compared to other evidences

Open Access•Aleksandra Majecka, Mirosława Kupryjanowicz et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2025

  • The role of climate and eustatic sea-level changes in post-Eemian sedimentary succession in the southern Baltic Sea region

    Open Access•Robert J Sokołowski, Anna Hrynowiecka et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2025

  • Sedimentation gaps documented in the Eemian (MIS 5e) record in four profiles from the Żabieniec palaeolake (Central Poland)

Open Access•Anna Hrynowiecka, Dorota Brzozowicz et al.•ARTICLE•Geographia Polonica•2024

Palaeobotanical reconstruction of the Eemian Interglacial vegetation and climate, revealed differences resulting from panregional and local factors. Lithostratigraphic analyses documented changes in sediments associated with evolution of three fossil Żabieniec lakes. Special attention was paid to Mid Eemian, for which records of thermophilic taxa were found. During the next phase the eutrophic lake shallowed, and a peatbog was formed. These proce…

  • Multi-proxy environmental reconstruction of the Eemian and Early Vistulian – Before, during and after the life of the forest rhino Stephanorhinus kirchbergensis (Jäger, 1839) from Gorzów Wielkopolski …

    Open Access•Anna Hrynowiecka, Renata Stachowicz-Rybka et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2024

  • Palaeoecological and palaeoenvironmental responses to abrupt climate changes during the Late Glacial

  • Natural and anthropogenic factors affecting intense slope processes in Eastern Europe during the Modern Period

    Open Access•Wiktor Piech, Anna Hrynowiecka et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2024•References: 16

Detailed palaeogeographical studies of the accumulative fan in the Serteyka River valley in W Russia and underlying biogenic deposits were carried out. The base of a representative core of biogenic sediments in the distal zone is dated to 1291 BC, while its top to 1631 AD. In this paper, palynological, plant macrofossils, Chironomide and Cladocera, geochemical, geochronological and sedimentological analysis were performed. Four phases of biogenic…
