  • Effects of Wind Velocity and Aggregate Size on Wind Erosion Characteristics of Loose Subsoil From the Mollisols Region of China: A Wind Tunnel Assessment

Open Access•Yanyan Xu, Bao Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2026

Soil erosion is a severe form of land degradation that threatens food production, especially in Northeast China, where fertile Mollisols dominate the agricultural landscape. Most previous studies have quantified soil erosion by water, while wind erosion of severely water‐eroded areas with exposed loose subsoil remains rarely explored. Here, we present a wind tunnel experiment (75 measurements) with different wind velocities and aggregate size cla…

  • Hydroclimatic heterogeneity in Southwest China revealed from trace elements of a Medieval-to-modern stalagmite

    Open Access•Chenyi Wang, Chen-Yi Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2026•References: 61

  • Testing the initial 230Th/232Th for “Known Age Carbonate” and its significance for 230Th dating and paleoclimate research

Open Access•Ting‐yong Li, Xuefeng Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2022

  • A tentative study of the relationship between annual δ18O & δD variations of precipitation and atmospheric circulations—A case from Southwest China

    Open Access•Jing-Li Zhou, Ting‐yong Li•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2018

  • Evolution of the Asian summer monsoon during Dansgaard/Oeschger events 13–17 recorded in a stalagmite constrained by high-precision chronology from southwest China

    Open Access•Ting‐yong Li, Ting-Yong Li et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2017

A stalagmite with high 238 U content from Yangkou Cave, China, revealed the evolution of the Asian summer monsoon (ASM) between 49.1 and 59.5 ka, and the δ 18 O values recorded Dansgaard/Oeschger (D/O) events 13–17. The Yangkou record shows a relatively gradual transition into the D/O 14 and 16 events. The discrepancy between the abrupt and gradual transitions of D/O 14 in the records from northern and southern China, respectively, suggests diffe…

  • Strong coupling of centennial-scale changes of Asian monsoon and soil processes derived from stalagmite δ 18 O and δ 13 C records, southern China

Open Access•Dianbing Liu, Yongjin Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2016

The paleoclimate application of speleothem δ 13 C is influenced by site-specific processes. Here we present four stalagmite δ 13 C records from two caves in southern China, covering early and late Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 3 and the Holocene, to investigate the spatio-temporal pattern of calcite δ 13 C changes and the relationship with Asian monsoon (AM) variability. In each growth period, precessional- to millennial-scale changes are clear in t…

  • Potential influence of temperature changes in the Southern Hemisphere on the evolution of the Asian summer monsoon during the last glacial period
