  • Spatial assessment of urban resilience to extreme rainfall and dynamic validation using post-event traffic data

Open Access•Zheng Han, Shaoli Ma et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Futures•2026

  • A framework for preparing cities for the successful implementation of shared autonomous vehicles

Open Access•Marvin Greifenstein, Alessandro La Delfa et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Cities and Society•2025

In response to sustainable mobility paradigms and the transition from private ownership to shared utilization, shared autonomous vehicles (SAVs) may play a pivotal role in future mobility systems. However, SAVs are still emerging, and there is a lack of cohesive frameworks and criteria to evaluate cities’ readiness for SAVs. Therefore, this study proposes a new conceptual framework to evaluate city readiness for SAVs, ensuring their integration a…

  • Mediating Effect of Body Mass Index and Dyslipidemia on the Relation of Uric Acid and Type 2 Diabetes

Open Access•Cheng Fang, Fang Cheng et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2022

Objective This study assessed temporal relationships of serum uric acid (SUA) with blood glucose and determine the mediating effects of body mass index (BMI) and dyslipidemia on the relation of SUA and risk of type 2 diabetes. Methods Participants aged ≥ 45 years were participated in 2011 and followed up until 2015. Cox proportional hazards regression with a robust variance estimator was performed to explore the association of SUA with the risk o…

  • Transportation infrastructure and trade

Open Access•Zheng Han, Hongtao Li•ARTICLE•Japan and the World Economy•2022

This paper offers a variant of the Ricardian model able to structurally interpret the estimate of country specific variable—transportation infrastructure. Guided by this new theoretical framework, this paper shows that transportation infrastructure enhances international trade more than internal trade. Further quantitative analysis suggests 10% increase in transportation infrastructure induces 3.9% increase in real income and more than 95% of the…

  • Geohazards Susceptibility Assessment along the Upper Indus Basin Using Four Machine Learning and Statistical Models

Open Access•Hilal Ahmad, Chen Ningsheng et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2021

The China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project passes through the Karakoram Highway in northern Pakistan, which is one of the most hazardous regions of the world. The most common hazards in this region are landslides and debris flows, which result in loss of life and severe infrastructure damage every year. This study assessed geohazards (landslides and debris flows) and developed susceptibility maps by considering four standalone machine-le…
