  • The experiences of non-suicidal self-injury among adolescents with depression and their families

Open Access•Xiaotong Yuan, Mingyang Gao et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica•2026

Depression is a prevalent mental health disorder worldwide, posing a serious threat to the physical and mental health of adolescents and becoming a major public health challenge. Studies have shown that the prevalence of non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) in adolescents with depressive disorders is 56.01% to 67.80%. This study aims to systematically review and integrate qualitative research on the NSSI experiences of adolescents with depression and …

  • Deep learning-based research on cultural symbols in few-shot destination social media images

Xiaodou Huang, Sheng Ye et al.•ARTICLE•Tourism Recreation Research•2026

In the digital age, cultural heritage sites utilise social media imagery for marketing. Nevertheless, existing research reveals two gaps: the scarcity of methods for accurately identifying multi-cultural element fusion in images under few-shot conditions; and the difficulty in quantifying their collective impact on user behaviour, which limits data-driven content strategy optimisation. Grounded in destination image theory and symbolic consumption…

  • A study on the impact of chronic diseases and depressive symptoms comorbidity on the risk of cognitive impairment in middle-aged and older adults people based on the CHARLS database

Open Access•Biqi Zu, Ning Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the combined impact of comorbid chronic diseases and depressive symptoms on the risk of cognitive impairment in middle-aged and older adults populations. It also explored the interaction mechanisms and provided scientific evidence for cognitive health interventions. Methods: Data from the 2020 wave of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) were used, including 16,890 participants age…

  • Nocturnal hypoxia in patients with sleep disorders

Open Access•Fei Jiang, Jinsong Huang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2024

These findings underscore the potential mediating role of nocturnal hypoxia in the association between neuroticism personality traits and psychological symptoms among individuals with sleep disorders. Our research holds considerable significance in advancing the quest for personalized treatments targeting psychological symptoms in individuals with sleep disorders

  • Trends in respiratory diseases before and after the Covid-19 pandemic in China from 2010 to 2021

Open Access•Zhongbao Zuo, Chunli Yang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2023

Our study demonstrated the incidence of the seven respiratory diseases decreased rapidly during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021. At the end of 2021, we did see a rising trend for the seven respiratory diseases compared to the year 2020 when the NPIs relaxed in China, but the rising trend was not significant after adjusting for the NPIs indicators. Our study showed that NPIs have an effect on respiratory diseases, but Relaxation of NPIs mig…

  • Regional Terrain Complexity Assessment Based on Principal Component Analysis and Geographic Information System

Open Access•Faming Huang, Jianbo Yang et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2020

Regional terrain complexity assessment (TCA) is an important theoretical foundation for geological feature identification, hydrological information extraction and land resources utilization. However, the previous TCA models have many disadvantages; for example, comprehensive consideration and redundancy information analysis of terrain factors is lacking, and the terrain complexity index is difficult to quantify. To overcome these drawbacks, a TCA…

  • Landslide Susceptibility Prediction Considering Regional Soil Erosion Based on Machine-Learning Models

Open Access•Faming Huang, Jiawu Chen et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2020

Soil erosion (SE) provides slide mass sources for landslide formation, and reflects long-term rainfall erosion destruction of landslides. Therefore, it is possible to obtain more reliable landslide susceptibility prediction results by introducing SE as a geology and hydrology-related predisposing factor. The Ningdu County of China is taken as a research area. Firstly, 446 landslides are obtained through government disaster survey reports. Secondl…

  • Exploring determinants of consumers' attitudes toward real-time bidding (RTB) advertising

Open Access•Sixuan Zhang, Robin L Wakefield et al.•ARTICLE•Information Technology and People•2020

Purpose Since its inception in 2009, the growth of real-time bidding (RTB) advertising has been dramatic. Yet, there is a dearth of research in the information system (IS) literature despite the potential for negative e-commerce outcomes. The purpose of this paper is to identify salient antecedents of users’ attitude toward RTB advertisements. Design/methodology/approach A research model was constructed and tested with data from 437 respondents. …

  • Interactive effects of perceived social exclusion and self-construal on recycling behavior

Open Access•Ning Zhou, Jinsong Huang et al.•ARTICLE•Social Behavior and Personality…•2017

Findings from previous studies demonstrating the effects of perceived social exclusion on social behaviors have been inconsistent. We used self-construal as a moderator to test the effects of perceived social exclusion on recycling behavior. A survey of 606 participants was conducted in Beijing, China. Results show that, for the independent self-construal group, perceived social exclusion had significantly negative effects on their recycling atti…

  • Factors Influencing Cart Abandonment in the Online Shopping Process

Open Access•Yin Xu, Xu Yin et al.•ARTICLE•Social Behavior and Personality…•2015

This paper presents a model of why and how cart abandonment occurs in the online shopping process. An online survey of 210 people was conducted via the online shopping website of a communication company in China. The results demonstrate that cart abandonment was directly and positively influenced by organization and research of the products within the cart as well as by comparison with external websites, and was directly and negatively influenced…

  • Effects of Price Discounts and Bonus Packs on Online Impulse Buying

Open Access•Yin Xu, Jinsong Huang et al.•ARTICLE•Social Behavior and Personality…•2014

We investigated and compared the effects of 2 forms of sales promotion, namely, price discounts and bonus packs, on online impulse buying. Participants were 280 undergraduate business students at a Chinese university, who responded to a promotion on a mock website. Previous researchers have shown that bonus packs have a greater impact on offline impulse buying than do price discounts. However, our findings were different in the online impulse buy…

  • A Comparison of Probabilistic Prize Promotion Schemes

Open Access•Rong Chen, Jinsong Huang et al.•ARTICLE•Social Behavior and Personality…•2012

Based on the rank-dependent expected utility model (Quiggin, 1991), hypotheses are formed in this study regarding optimal prize promotion structure with reference to associated probabilistic aspects. Referencing both modeling works and related behavioral theories, we compared several design schemes. Using purchase scenarios of a low-value product (bread) and a high-value product (cell phone) we determined the optimal design among promotion scheme…

  • Factors influencing intention to forward short Internet videos

    Open Access•Jinsong Huang, J C Huang et al.•ARTICLE•Social Behavior and Personality…•2012

Interpersonal short video forwarding is currently one of the most popular activities of Internet users. One of the key factors that affects this online interpersonal behavior is forwarding intention. In this study, a quality perception → benefit expectation → intention model was proposed to explain the formation of video forwarding intention. To test the model data were collected from 210 undergraduate students. The results showed that perception…
