  • The Relationships Between Personality Traits and Public Stigma Attached to Families Bereaved Due To Suicide

    Open Access•Michael Weinberg, M Soffer•ARTICLE•OMEGA - Journal of Death and Dying•2021

Therefore, this study examined the association between personality traits and the public stigma attached to families that have lost a member to suicide. Three hundred …

Studies show that women are more vulnerable to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) transmission than men because of biological and sociocultural risk factors. Israeli Arab-Palestinians are the largest ethnic minority group in Israel. Unofficial data suggest that merely one percent of the tests conducted in Israel to diagnose HIV/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) are conducted by this population and that Israeli Arab-Palestinians are typic…

  • Politics of geographic exclusion: Deinstitutionalization, hegemony and persons with intellectual disability in Israel

    M Soffer, Michal Koreh et al.•ARTICLE•Disability & Society•2017•Cited by: 4•References: 4

Deinstitutionalization is a core policy for the development of services for people with intellectual disabilities (ID) in western countries. Nonetheless, although a western country, deinstitutionalization is not well advanced in Israel. In order to shed light on this phenomenon, we explore the hegemony of ID as reflected in Israeli legislation. The analysis shows a biomedical hegemony; ID is depicted as a form of medical and social deviance. Isra…

We assess SMW policies in the United States, Australia and Israel, along four conceptual dimensions delineating participants, programs, service delivery, and outcomes. Similarities and differences in policy and practice on th…

Although adults with disabilities account for the majority of IDA participants, scant attention has been paid to their IDA saving perfor…
