  • Enacting the Anti-fascist Body: Somaterapia as Collective Liberatory Becoming

    Open Access•Aragorn Eloff•ARTICLE•Somatechnics•2024•References: 4

I introduce the practice of somaterapia (somatherapy), an eclectic synthesis of Gestalt therapy, capoeira Angola, anti-psychiatry, collective trust exercises, radical pedagogy, and anarchism developed as an anti-fascist practice aimed at healing the violence of oppressive forms of social organisation as they manifest in bodies. Somaterapia takes an immanent and materialist view on what constitutes a body, eschewing mind-body dualisms and transcen…

  • The fourth ecology: Hikikomori , depressive hedonia and algorithmic ubiquity

Chantelle Gray, Aragorn Eloff•ARTICLE•South African Journal of Philosophy•2023•Cited by: 1•References: 22

In this article we expand upon the conceptual framework of Félix Guattari's 1989 essay, The Three Ecologies. In response to this Guattari proposes a kind of holistic therapy or 'ecosophy' betwee…

Open Access•Chantelle Gray, Delphi Cartstens et al.•ARTICLE•Matter Journal of New Materialist…•2021

This intra-view explores a number of productive junctions between contemporary Deleuzoguattarian and new materialist praxes via a series of questions and provocations. Productive tensions are explored via questions of epistemological, ontological, ethical, and political intra-sections as well as notions of difference, transversal contamination, ecosophical practices, diffraction, and, lastly, schizoanalysis. Various irruptions around biophilosoph…

  • Deleuze and Anarchism

Chantelle Gray Van Heerden, Aragorn Eloff•BOOK•Deleuze and Anarchism•2019

Explores Deleuze and Guattari’s own diverse conceptions of anarchism and expands it in the spirit of their philosophy This collection of 13 essays addresses and explores Deleuze and Guattari’s relationship to the notion of anarchism: in the diverse ways that they conceived of and referred to it throughout their work, and also more broadly in terms of the spirit of their philosophy and in their critique of capitalism and the State. Both Deleuze an…
