Sebastian Kaufmann, Philipp Schwab et al.•BOOK•Nietzsches Philosophien•2024

  • Das Genie Im Schaffen Nietzsches

    Open Access•Sebastian Kaufmann•ARTICLE•German Life and Letters•2022

The article aims to show the central importance of Friedrich Nietzsche to notions of genius in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. On the one hand, it considers the influence of idealised representations of Nietzsche (for example, in Thomas Mann and Gottfried Benn) as a genius marked by loneliness, illness, and finally madness. On the other hand, it seeks to trace the significance of ‘genius’ within Nietzsche's oeuvre . It transpires that gen…

Katharina Grätz, Sebastian Kaufmann et al.•ARTICLE•Nietzscheforschung•2021

  • “Nós, deuses no exílio!”

    Open Access•Sebastian Kaufmann•ARTICLE•Cadernos Nietzsche•2020

    Sebastian Kaufmann•CHAPTER•Nietzsche Als Dichter•2017

Gaiety, heroism, sentimentality: Nietzsche's Idyllen aus Messina and his poetological conception of the idyll. Based on a short explanation of the lyric cycle's genesis, the article examines Nietzsche's aesthetical conception(s) of the idyll in the light of the genre's tradition. Then, after a brief consideration of the relation between the Idyllen aus Messina and German folk song (as Nietzsche recognized it), the eight poems are finally interpre…

  • Multiculturalidad y ética del reconocimiento

    Open Access•Sebastian Kaufmann•ARTICLE•Persona y Sociedad•2011
