Dyadic coping and well-being in early-stage dementia couples
We found more actor effects than partner effects, suggesting that DC behaviors primarily impact one's own well-being, rather than the partner's well-being. The different patterns of DC effects on subjects with ESD and their partners reflect a need for tailored interventions that consider the unique needs of each partner in couples facing ESD
Traces of the transplantation complex in Jean-Luc Nancy’s body-ontological work
Lung transplantation is a complex psychodynamic process. In a prior study, the authors investigated 40 patients who had just undergone lung transplant operations. Using the analysis of a dream, they elaborated what they termed the "transplantation complex". They also demonstrated that references are made to this transplantation complex in the further interviews of the total sample. In this paper, they examine whether aspects of the transplantatio…
Dose-dependent QTc interval prolongation under haloperidol and pipamperone in the management of delirium in a naturalistic setting
Delirium treatment with haloperidol and/or pipamperone was not associated with a higher risk of QTc-interval prolongation in this naturalistic patient sample but was greater in magnitude and correlated with equipotent dosage and the number of QT interval-prolonging substances used. Polypharmacy was associated with higher mortality and increased risk of critical QTc prolongation
Heidegger und Die Psychiatrie
This volume publishes the important correspondence between Martin Heidegger and Ludwig Binswanger and between Heidegger and Viktor Frankl. In essays by established experts, Heidegger's influence on psychiatry, psychology, psychotherapy, and existential analysis is discussed and his lasting significance for these disciplines is shown. Heidegger's thinking makes it possible to think deeply about health and illness, the human body or the doctor-pati…
