  • From Pompeii to Rhodes, from Survey to Sources

Open Access•Adriana Rossi, Silvia Bertacchi et al.•ARTICLE•Heritage•2026

The authors provide further elements in support of the hypothesized use at Pompeii of an advanced repeating dart-thrower. This article primarily emphasizes the strong formal analogy between Philo of Byzantium’s description (3rd century BC) of the damage produced by the polybolos and the distinctive configurations of quadrangular cavities arranged at short intervals along a curved line, identified and documented during the 2024 digital survey and …

  • Hbim

Open Access•Adriana Rossi, Santiago Lillo Giner et al.•ARTICLE•Heritage•2026

This article analyzes the Solimene façade (Vietri sul Mare, Campania, Italy, 1952–1955). The purpose of the new acquisitions was to generate data to inform a plug-in that, in the latest versions of the Revit software, correlates parametric and procedural environments. The focus of the study was the ration…

Open Access•Adriana Rossi, Sara Gonizzi Barsanti et al.•ARTICLE•Studies in Digital Heritage•2025

The paper presents the survey and the virtual reconstruction of the remains of the 3rd century BC ‘chamber’ type tombs found at Santa Maria Capua Vetere, along the southern slopes of Monte Massico. The frescoes decorating the walls, surveyed with photogrammetry, have been reconstructed to allow visitors to immerse themselves in the world of the deceased, creating a space of shared spatial reality. The paintings were schematically traced by discre…

Open Access•Adriana Rossi, Sara Gonizzi Barsanti et al.•ARTICLE•Heritage•2025•References: 1

This paper explores the possibility of counteracting the crisis of culture and institutions by investing in the identity values of the user-actor within digital spaces built for the purpose. The strategy is applied to the analysis of three Catalan cloisters (Spain), with a focus on the representation of the cloister of Sant Cugat (Barcelona). Heuristic picklocks are found in the semantic richness proposed by Marius Schneider exclusively on the ve…
