A preliminary study of alternative taste languages using qualitative description of sodium chloride solutions
Monolingual English and Malay speakers as well as bilinguals gave qualitative descriptions of salt solutions and their descriptive strategies were examined. Malay speakers made greater use of the modifying comparative phrase than English speakers, thus making use of a strategy that may help prevent confusions in English. Such a strategy may benefit taste panels
