DNA Genealogical Communities as a Central Hub for Exchanging Information on Human Molecular Diversity
Field Diaries of the Botanist N. A. Bush, as a Source of Folklore and Ethnography of the Caucasus Ethnic groups (Using the Example of the Karachays)
This paper explores the scientific legacy of N. A. Bush. His primary areas of interest were the vegetation, flora, and geography of the Caucasus. His numerous trips to the Caucasus yielded folklore and ethnographic materials and information, as well as ethnographic collections gathered from local residents. Interest in these materials has increased in recent years, and some of the collection has been included in scholarly circulation. This paper …
Y-chromosome polymorphisms in Nogai subethnicities in the context of Caucasian gene pools
The study of genetic history through Y-chromosome polymorphism in modern and ancient populations helps reconstruct ethnogenesis. Research on the Nogai gene pool, as descendants of ancient nomads, allows tracing migration routs in the Eurasian steppe corridor. The Nogai ethnic group formed in the Middle Ages, as a result of interactions of the populations of the Central Asian, West Siberian, Ural-Volga, North Caucasian, and East European historica…
