  • Exploring the Relationships between Multilevel Built Environments and Commute Durations in Dual-Earner Households

Open Access•Xiaoquan Wang, Weifeng Wang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

The links between built environments (BE) and commute durations have been extensively studied. However, relatively few studies have considered the effects of BEs at different spatial levels within a unified framework, or identified the gendered relationships between BEs and commute durations. Using survey data from 3209 household couples in 97 Chinese cities, this study investigates the effects of neighborhood- and city-level BEs on commute durat…

  • Exploring the Relationship between Built Environment and Commuting Mode Choice

Open Access•Chaoying Yin, Xiaoquan Wang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

The literature has offered much evidence regarding associations between the built environment (BE) and commuting behavior. However, most prior studies are conducted based on cross-sectional samples from developed countries, and little is known about the longitudinal link between BE and commuting behavior. Based on two rounds of survey data from China, this study examines relationships of BE with commuting mode choice from both cross-sectional and…

  • Antiviral effect of fufang yinhua jiedu (FFYH) granules against influenza A virus through regulating the inflammatory responses by TLR7/MyD88 signaling pathway

Open Access•Yuqian Zhang, Ronghua Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2021

FFYH not only showed a broad-spectrum of anti-influenza virus activity in vitro, but also exhibited a significant protective effect against lethal influenza virus infection in vivo. Furthermore, our results indicated that the in vivo antiviral effect of FFYH against influenza virus may be attributed to suppressing the expression of inflammatory cytokines via regulating the TLR7/MyD88/NF-κB signaling pathway. These findings provide evidence for th…

  • Nonlinear effects of residential and workplace built environment on car dependence

Open Access•Xiaoquan Wang, Chaoying Yin et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Transport Geography•2021•Cited by: 8•References: 9

  • Disentangling the comparative roles of multilevel built environment on body mass index

Open Access•Xiaoquan Wang, Chunfu Shao et al.•ARTICLE•Cities•2021•Cited by: 1•References: 74

  • Exploring the Influence of Built Environment on Car Ownership and Use with a Spatial Multilevel Model

Open Access•Xiaoquan Wang, Chunfu Shao et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2018

Although the impacts of built environment on car ownership and use have been extensively studied, limited evidence has been offered for the role of spatial effects in influencing the interaction between built environment and travel behavior. Ignoring the spatial effects may lead to misunderstanding the role of the built environment and providing inconsistent transportation policies. In response to this, we try to employ a two-step modeling approa…
