  • Impact of Electronic Word-of-Mouth Dispersion on Tourists' Purchase Intentions for Local Food Restaurants

    Open Access•Hongjie Sun, Meng Qiu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Hospitality & Tourism…•2026•References: 75

Electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) dispersion often increases perceived risk and reduces purchase intention; however, a high dispersion of eWOM regarding local food may have different effects on tourists. This study explores how eWOM dispersion influences tourists’ purchase intentions for local food. We find that high eWOM dispersion actually stimulates tourists’ curiosity, thereby enhancing their intention to purchase local food. This effect is mod…

  • The Inverted U-Shaped Effect of Personalization on Consumer Attitudes in AI-Generated Ads

Hongjie Sun, Pengfei Xie et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Advertising Research•2025

AI-generated ads present unparalleled potential for personalization, with a growing trend among tech giants and advertisers towards “the more personalized, the better.” However, the appropriate degree of personalization in AI-generated ads and its impact on consumer attitudes remain unclear. Drawing on approach-avoidance theory, this research proposes an inverted U-shaped relationship between the degree of personalization and consumer attitudes i…

  • What drives the tourist Daka? An empirical study based on the perspective of dual motivation

Yitao Chen, Chen Yitao et al.•ARTICLE•Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism…•2024•Cited by: 3•References: 6

Tourist Daka, a recording behaviour displaying individuals' tourism in virtual spaces, has become a major manifestation of travel experiences in modern social media. Through a dual motivation lens, this study investigated the relationship between Daka destination features, dual Daka motivations (i.e. intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation), and Daka intention to develop a model that outlines the influencing mechanism driving the occurrence of…

  • The Advertisement Puts Me Down, But I Like It

Hongjie Sun, Luo Yong et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Advertising Research•2023

Advertisements often use positive appeals to please consumers. One exception is an emerging device that uses negative messages to target audiences, which the current authors refer to as “audience-targeted negative advertisements.” Through in-depth interviews and two experiments, this research systematically explores the perceptions and feelings of audiences about audience-targeted negative advertisements (Study 1); empirically distinguishes these…

  • The U-shaped effect of intimacy on word-of-mouth intention about consumption failure

Hongjie Sun, Meiling Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2023

  • Oxidative Stress Responses and Gene Transcription of Mice under Chronic-Exposure to 2,6-Dichlorobenzoquinone

Open Access•Wenjing Wu, Yingying Liu et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

2,6-Dichlorobenzoquinone (2,6-DCBQ), as an emerging disinfection by-production, was frequently detected and identified in the drinking water; however, limited information is available for the toxic effect of 2,6-DCBQ on mice. In the present study, adult mice were used to assess the impact of 2,6-DCBQ via measuring the responses of antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT)), the key genes (Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), NADPH qu…
