Transfer Learning for Spatial Autoregressive Models with Application to U.S. Presidential Election Prediction
It is important to incorporate spatial geographic information into U.S. presidential election analysis, especially for swing states. The state-level analysis also faces significant challenges of limited spatial data availability. To address the challenges of spatial dependence and small sample sizes in predicting U.S. presidential election results using spatially dependent data, we propose a novel transfer learning framework within the SAR model,…

The impact of short videos on young people’s willingness to engage in martial arts
Short videos, as a widely used form of social media among adolescents, currently lack validated methods to ascertain whether viewing these videos fosters a corresponding willingness to learn. This study addresses this research gap by proposing and empirically testing a novel “Video Emotional Stimulation (S) - Flow Experience (O) - Willingness to Learn Martial Arts (R)” model based on the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework. Our key contr…
Effects of urban green exercise on mental health
As global urbanization accelerates, concerns regarding the mental health of urban residents have become increasingly prominent. Urban green exercise, a non-pharmacological intervention integrating exposure to nature with physical activity, has gained considerable attention due to its potential mental health benefits. However, systematic evidence synthesizing the specific effects and underlying mechanisms of urban green exercise on mental health r…
Exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and bone mineral density in children and adolescents
Introduction Identifying factors that hinder bone development in children and adolescents is crucial for preventing osteoporosis. Exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) has been linked to reduced bone mineral density (BMD), although available data, especially in children and adolescents, are limited. We examined the associations between urinary hydroxylated-PAHs (OH-PAHs) and lumbar spine BMD, pelvic BMD, and total BMD among 8–19 yea…
The association between screen exposure and social–emotional development in children and adolescents
This meta-analysis synthesizes 124 effect sizes from 30 articles (both cross-sectional and longitudinal; N = 39,620) to examine the relationship between screen exposure and socio-emotional development in children and adolescents. Using a random-effects model, results revealed a small but significant negative correlation between screen exposure and social-emotional competence (r = -0.046, 95 % CI [-0.070, -0.021]) and a small positive correlation …
The status quo of short video as sources of health information on gastroesophageal reflux disease in China
Background: Positive lifestyle adjustments have become effective methods in treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Utilizing short video platforms to encourage GERD patients for effective self-disease management is a convenient and cost-effective approach. However, the quality of GERD-related videos on short video platforms is yet to be determined, and these videos may contain misinformation that patients cannot recognize. This study ai…
Association between muscle strength and cardiometabolic multimorbidity risk among middle-aged and older Chinese adults
In Chinese middle-aged and older adults, low relative grip strength was associated with a higher risk of CM in individuals with heart disease, while high chair-rising time was associated with a higher risk of CM in individuals with diabetes or heart disease
Using broadly targeted plant metabolomics technology combined with network pharmacology to explore the mechanism of action of the Yishen Gushu formula in the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis i…
