  • China’s unfinished buildings have created stranded assets with substantial resource and socioeconomic costs

Open Access•Ning Zhang, Xiaoxue Gao et al.•ARTICLE•One Earth•2026

  • How does space matter? On the importance of embedding spatialities in industrial ecology frameworks for circularity in the built environment

Open Access•Georg Schiller, Xiaoxue Gao et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Industrial Ecology•2025

This paper explores the critical role of spatiality and scale in industrial ecology (IE) research to promote circularity within the built environment. Traditional IE frameworks are predominantly a‐spatial and a‐political, overlooking the complex socio‐ecological–technological dynamics of urban–regional environments. This gap limits the development of holistic assessments and effective strategies for circularity, often externalizing political, eco…

  • The convergence of reciprocity motivation through observational learning

Nan Yu, Yu Nan et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2025

  • Hydrological changes and its impacts on prehistoric human welfare in the western Tibetan Plateau since the last deglaciation

    Open Access•Xiaoxue Gao, Kejia Ji et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2025•Cited by: 1•References: 88

In recent decades, the rapidly changing climate environment in the Tibetan Plateau (TP) poses significant challenges to human survival and future sustainable development. The suitability and stability of the climate in the TP undoubtedly affected the living conditions and welfare of prehistoric humans. However, few studies have attempted to link climate stability and the survival of ancient humans, especially considering their lesser adaptability…

  • Explaining Individual Differences in Advantageous Inequity Aversion by Social-Affective Trait Dimensions and Family Environment

Open Access•Hongbo Yu, Chunlei Lu et al.•ARTICLE•Social Psychological and…•2022

Humans are averse to both having less (i.e., disadvantageous inequity aversion [IA]) and having more than others (i.e., advantageous IA). However, the social-affective traits that drive individual differences in IA are not well understood. Here, by combining a modified dictator game and a computational model, we found in a sample of incarcerated adolescents ( N = 67) that callous-unemotional traits were specifically associated with low advantageo…

  • Anti-perimenopausal osteoporosis effects of Erzhi formula via regulation of bone resorption through osteoclast differentiation

Open Access•Xiao-yan Qin, Xiaoyan Qin et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2021

  • Towards a comprehensive understanding of intercity cooperation in China’s city-regionalization

    Open Access•Xianchun Zhang, Jianfa Shen et al.•ARTICLE•Land Use Policy•2021•Cited by: 15•References: 63

  • Neural substrates and social consequences of interpersonal gratitude

Hongbo Yu, Qiang Cai et al.•ARTICLE•Emotion•2016

Voluntary help during a time of need fosters interpersonal gratitude, which has positive social and personal consequences such as improved social relationships, increased reciprocity, and decreased distress. In a behavioral and a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) experiment, participants played a multiround interactive game where they received pain stimulation. An anonymous partner interacted with the participants and either intentiona…
