The Memory Superiority Effect of Induced Insight in Semantic Versus Perceptual Levels
Previous studies have established that insight enhances memory across a variety of tasks. However, it remains unclear whether memory performance differs between perceptual and semantic insights. To address this issue, this study employed a learning–testing paradigm with Chinese riddles. In the learning phase, individuals judged whether they had grasped the relationship between each riddle and its solution (a Chinese character) under four conditio…
The involvement of conflict monitoring and rewards processing in the appropriateness evaluation of creativity
The (meta-)memory superiority effect of induced insight on item memory and associative memory
The mechanism of chunk restructuring in the memory superiority effect of Insight
The superior memory effect of insightful learning
Previous research has confirmed the advantage of insightful learning in item memory, but its impact on associative memory, particularly the role of novelty, remains unclear. This study aims to investigate the role of novelty in insightful learning on associative memory and metamemory using a Chinese logogriph learning-testing paradigm. Participants were asked to judge whether the "Midi" word/character (the answer) matched the "Mimian" phrase (the…
Using Self-Directed Humor to Regulate Emotion
The relationship between Honesty-Humility and malevolent creativity
The involvement of decomposition and composition processes in restructuring during problem solving
The influence of the matching of modality presentation mode and perceptual learning style on the bidialectal switching cost of Cantonese-Mandarin
Bidialectal means that two language varieties have different spoken forms but a mutual written language, and bidialectal switching cost refers to the processing of a mixed-language series in language switching compared to the processing of a single-language series. It often appears as a phenomenon in which a speaker’s reaction becomes longer and the error rate increases. With the enrichment of experimental materials and the improvement of experim…
The Electrophysiological Mechanisms of Constraint Relaxation Studied with A Chinese Logogriph Task
The Mechanism of Constraint Relaxation and Chunk Decomposition and the Related Prototype Elicitation Effect in Logogriph Tasks
