    Alberto Ciria•ARTICLE•Canadian Journal of Latin…•1986•References: 2

The author analyses the way in which public discourse was used and perverted by the Argentine military régime of 1976 to 1983 in order to obscure or justify torture, repression, murder and wholesale abuse of human rights. He shows how the military's use of language conforms to the model of “Newspeak” as defined by George Orwell.
