  • Cell-type-specific synaptic modulation of mAChR on SST and PV interneurons

Open Access•Huanxin Chen, Ting He et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2023

The muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (mAChR) antagonist, scopolamine, has been shown to have a rapid antidepressant effect. And it is believed that GABAergic interneurons play a crucial role in this action. Therefore, characterizing the modulation effects of mAChR on GABAergic interneurons is crucial for understanding the mechanisms underlying scopolamine’s antidepressant effects. In this study, we examined the effect of mAChR activation on the …

Open Access•Yanyan Ma, Liwei Hu et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2022

    (1) Background: The left atrium (LA) is much more than a reservoir for left ventricular filling. The aim of this study was to assess the LA volume and function in patients with repaired pulmonary artery atresia with ventricular septal defect (rPA/VSD) using CMR. (2) Methods: 31 pediatric patients with rPA/VSD and 30 healthy controls were prospectively recruited. Left atrial ejection fraction (EF), strain and strain rate of three phases (reservoir…

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the mechanism and boundary condition of the effect of managers' negotiable fate belief (NFB) on enterprise incremental and radical innovation based on social cognition theory and social network theory. Design/methodology/approach The authors used Mplus and SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions) to test the proposed model with data from 278 enterprises that have established national or muni…

  • The Older Gamer in Games Studies

    Open Access•Huan Wu, Chen Guo•ARTICLE•Cultural Science Journal•2020

This study concerns older gamers, who are often neglected in the gaming world. After reviewing the literature about older gamers, we have found most studies focus on the therapeutic function of videogames for solving problems related to age. Using an intersectional vision of critical gerontology studies and critical disability studies, we find that implicit compulsory youthfulness and compulsory ablebodiedness or ablemindedness colours studies ab…

  • Association of Typical Toxic Heavy Metals with Schizophrenia

Open Access•Jiahui Ma, Lailai Yan et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2019

Toxic heavy metals (THMs) are contaminants commonly found in the environment. Although a large number of studies have demonstrated their damage to the biological functions of the human being, their potential associations with the risk of developing schizophrenia remain controversial. In this study, we investigated the associations between four THMs (chromium (Cr), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb) and arsenic (As)) in serum and the risk of schizophrenia. I…

  • Exposure to Ambient Air Particles Increases the Risk of Mental Disorder

Open Access•Zhen Jia, Yongjie Wei et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2018

Epidemiology studies indicated that air pollution has been associated with adverse neurological effects in human. Moreover, the secretion of glucocorticoid (GC) affects the mood regulation, and the negative feedback of hippocampal glucocorticoid receptors (GR) inhibits the GC secretion. Meanwhile, the over secretion of GC can interfere the immune system and induce neurotoxicity. In the present study, the human test showed that the secretion of th…

  • The Chemical Composition and Production Area of Early Western Zhou Proto‐Porcelain Unearthed from Yejiashan Cemetery, Suizhou, China

    Open Access•Yongbin Yu, Y B Yu et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeometry•2018•Referencias: 8

The bodies and glazes of 27 early Western Zhou proto‐porcelain samples from Yejiashan cemetery, Hubei Province, were analysed using LA‐ICP–AES, SEM, XRD, a thermal expansion instrument and other analytical methods. The results indicated that the bodies of all samples were characterized by high silicon and low aluminium, and were made with porcelain stone raw materials found in the south of China. The glazes are typical of high‐temperature calcium…

  • Transcriptome Profiling of the Lungs Reveals Molecular Clock Genes Expression Changes after Chronic Exposure to Ambient Air Particles

Open Access•Pengcheng Song, Zhigang Li et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2017

The symptoms of asthma, breathlessness, insomnia, etc. all have relevance to pulmonary rhythmic disturbances. Epidemiology and toxicology studies have demonstrated that exposure to ambient air particles can result in pulmonary dysfunction. However, there are no data directly supporting a link between air pollution and circadian rhythm disorder. In the present study, we found that breathing highly polluted air resulted in changes of the molecular …

Open Access•Qiyan Wu, Jianquan Cheng et al.•ARTICLE•Cities•2014•Citada por: 28•Referencias: 30

Socio-spatial differentiation and residential segregation have been studied extensively in numerous cities and have contributed significantly to the understanding of urban spatial and social structures. Analyses of diverse data sets at varied spatial scales have supported the development of theoretical frameworks. However, the majority of Chinese case studies published in recent decades were dominantly based on either non-spatial data or populati…

  • Varying Levels of the Dian Lakes and the Dian Lakes Culture

Open Access•Terry Lustig, Terry Leslie Lustig et al.•ARTICLE•Bulletin of the Indo-Pacific…•2012•Citada por: 1

Historical records state that the Dian kingdom was based on thousands of square li of rich flat land around Dianchi Lake. However, through use of a digital elevation model of the area, it is found that this area was about 800 li2—substantially less. Even if the other major Dian Lakes—Fuxian, Xinyung and Qi Lu—are included, the area increases to only about 1,000 li2. In the process of checking the area stated in the historical records, some issues…

  • Genetic Profile of Two Tibetan Populations from China by Analysis of 15 STR Loci

Binwu Ying, Tingting Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Human Biology•2006•Referencias: 1

Allele frequency data for the STR systems D3S1358, TH01, D21S11, D18S51, PENTAE, D5S818, D13S317, D7S820, D16S539, CSF1PO, PENTAD, VWA, D8S1179, TPOX, and FGA were determined in two population samples of unrelated, healthy Tibetan individuals. All loci met Hardy-Weinberg expectations, and there was no evidence of association of alleles among the 15 loci. These findings suggest that these STR loci could be particularly powerful tools in forensic m…
