Child abuse is underreported for children with socioeconomic inequalities. The impact of geographic location combined with sociocultural characteristics on teachers’ reports of child abuse remains unclear. A national survey of 572 kindergarten teachers from 79 schools in Taiwan used hierarchical linear modeling to investigate the contribution of individual factors, environmental factors, and training on kindergarten teachers’ intention to report …
Aids and Homophobia Among Women
The purpose of this research was to study nurses' attitudes toward homosexuality and caring for homosexual patients. The results reported in this article are a component of a larger study of nurses' knowledge about and attitudes toward caring for patients with AIDS. The sample comprised 581 Registered Nurses residing in Erie County, New York. Data were gathered by mailed questionnaires. Results of the study indicate that issues concerning the car…
The Effects of Heterogeneous Regression Slopes on the Robustness of Two Test Statistics in the Analysis of Covariance
The present study compares the robustness of two different one way fixed-effects analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) models with respect to the effects of unequal regression slopes. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the model which uses a test statistic incorporating estimates of the separate slopes will be more robust than the conventional model which assumes the slopes are equal. A Monte Carlo simulation technique was employed to …
