  • Status Report on Sample Preparation Protocols Developed at the LMC14 Laboratory, Saclay, France

    Open Access•J-P Dumoulin, C Comby-Zerbino et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2017•Cited by: 20•References: 32

The main objective of this report is to present the dating process routinely applied to different types of samples at the Laboratoire de Mesure du Carbone 14 (LMC14). All the results and protocols refer to our procedures over the last 5 years. A description of the sorting and chemical pretreatments of the samples as well as the extraction and graphitization of CO 2 are reported. Our last study concerning the degradation of the blank level accordi…

  • Second Radiocarbon Intercomparison Program for the Chauvetpont d'Arc Cave, Ardèche, France

Anita Quiles, Helene Valladas et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2014•Cited by: 11•References: 11

The Chauvet-Pont d'Arc Cave is one of the most important sites for the study of the earliest manifestations and development of prehistoric art at the beginning of the Upper Paleolithic. Different dating techniques have been performed thus far (AMS 14 C, U/Th TIMS, 36 Cl dating) to model the chronological framework of this decorated cave. The cave yielded several large charcoal fragments, which enabled the opportunity for obtaining multiple dates;…

  • Bayesian modelling of an absolute chronology for Egypt's 18th Dynasty by astrophysical and radiocarbon methods
