  • Synthesis tools help teach systems concepts in VLSI design

Open Access•W Wolf, Marilyn Wolf•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Education•1992

The VLSI project class at Princeton University has been redesigned, using modern logic and layout synthesis tools, to emphasize system design issues. The design methodology taught in the class allows students to build larger designs; it also allows them to learn, by redesign, how to trade off layout, circuit, logic, and architectural design problems. Two synthesis tools were developed (based on the Oct tool set from UC Berkeley) to generate stand…

  • American Indian youth and drugs, 1976-87

    Fred Beauvais, E R Oetting et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Public Health•1989•Cited by: 11•References: 12

Continuing surveillance of drug use among American Indian adolescents living on reservations shows them to have rates of use higher than those of their non-Indian counterparts. Marijuana use is particularly high among Indian students. By the 7th grade a significant number of Indian youth have tried drugs, particularly marijuana and alcohol, and there are few significant differences by gender. Based on observed patterns of use, intervention strate…
