  • Examination of three-factor eating questionnaire subscale scores on weight loss and weight loss maintenance in a clinical intervention

    Open Access•Natalie Papini, Rachel N S Foster et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Psychology•2022

Dietary restraint is a unique eating behavior associated with weight loss at 6 months beyond other eating behaviors measured by the TFEQ in an adult sample enrolled in a weight loss intervention. No other subscale scores were significant at 6 months or at 18 months. Future research should consider how to promote flexible control and discourage adoption of rigid restraint behaviors since the latter is associated with disordered eating patterns

  • Pragmatic Evaluation of a Health System-Based Employee Weight Management Program

Open Access•Meghan M JaKa, Jennifer Dinh et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

Objective : We aimed to evaluate the fidelity and estimate the effectiveness of a novel health system employee weight-management program. Methods: Employees participating in a weight loss program consisting of self-monitoring, health coaching and meal replacements optionally enrolled in the 12-month study. Longitudinal, single-arm analyses were conducted evaluating change over time via survey, claims and programmatic data. Token participation inc…

  • Patterns of Weight Change in a Commercial Weight Loss Program

Open Access•Heontae Kim, Taeyeon Oh et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Health Behavior•2021

Objectives: In this study, we examined compliance and progress factors associated with weight loss and maintenance, individual patterns of weight trends following weight loss, and impact of early weight loss on longer-term weight change. Methods: We conducted secondary analysis of pre-post data. Participants were 8769 persons (mean age = 47.63 ± 13.78 years; 77.74% women; mean weight = 97.20 ± 22.82 kilograms; BMI = 34.09 ± 6.84) in a commercial …

  • Rasch calibration of the 25-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale

Open Access•Natalie Papini, Minsoo Kang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Health Psychology•2021•Cited by: 1•References: 41

Rasch modeling was used to examine the 25-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale within adults ( n = 410) in a weight management program. Rasch analysis assessed model-data fit, item difficulty and person's resilience level, an item-person map to evaluate relative distribution items and persons, and rating scale function. Four misfit items were identified and removed. Item difficulty ranged from 1.25 to 1.19 logits (higher logit values indicate mo…

  • The influence of physical characteristics on the resting energy expenditure of youth

Open Access•Stephen D Herrmann, Robert G Mcmurray et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Human Biology•2017

  • Measurement Properties of the Sedentary Behavior Strategy Self-management Instrument in African-American Breast Cancer Survivors

Raheem J Paxton, Yong Gao et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Health Behavior•2014

The reliability and structural validity of the instrument was supported overall; however, revisions may be needed to support its validity in older AA breast cancer survivors

  • Physical activity and academic achievement across the curriculum (A + Paac)

    Open Access•J E Donnelly, Jerry L Greene et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2013

    US NIH Clinical Trials, http://NCT01699295

  • Compendium of Physical Activities

Barbara E Ainsworth, William L Haskell et al.•ARTICLE•Medicine & Science in Sports &…•2011

PURPOSE: The Compendium of Physical Activities was developed to enhance the comparability of results across studies using self-report physical activity (PA) and is used to quantify the energy cost of a wide variety of PA. We provide the second update of the Compendium, called the 2011 Compendium. METHODS: The 2011 Compendium retains the previous coding scheme to identify the major category headings and specific PA by their rate of energy expendit…
