  • Beyond Neurodiversity Lite: Improving the Robustness of Neurodiversity Employment Programs

    Open Access•Maira E Ezerins, Timothy J Vogus et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Organizational Behavior•2026•References: 50

The confluence of economic conditions and emerging evidence of the advantages of a neurodiverse workforce has sparked dozens of high‐profile neurodiversity employment programs. Despite some success, the impact of these initiatives pales in comparison to the scope of employment challenges facing neurodivergent job seekers. In this article, we argue that the limited impact of neurodiversity employment initiatives is a function of at least three key…

  • From homelessness to hotel living during the Covid-19 pandemic

Ryan Savino, Jonathan D Prince et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Social Distress and…•2025

We explored life in a hotel where unhoused individuals were accommodated during the COVID-19 pandemic. We conducted hour-long semi-structured interviews with twenty residents of a lodging hotel in New York City to: (1) compare their current living situation with prior experiences of homelessness; (2) address how current needs were being met; and (3) assess how hotel living might facilitate residents’ transitions to more permanent housing. Althoug…

Our review is organized in three sections. In the first section, we discuss research trends and provide clarification regarding the pressing and not-so-pressing problems with the way that abusive supervision is ordinarily conceptualized and studied. In the second secti…

  • Years Running: The need to understand why employee physical activity benefits organizations

    Open Access•Charles Calderwood, Allison S Gabriel et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Organizational Behavior•2015•References: 1

Employee physical activity initiatives are commonplace, but management scholarship has not kept pace with theoretical and empirical work to validate such initiatives. In this Incubator , we clarify the employee physical activity construct, present mechanisms linking physical activity to organizationally valued outcomes, and consider the dark side of employee physical activity initiatives. • Hierarchical representations of the five-factor model of personality in predicting job performance: Integrating three organizing frameworks with two theoretical perspectives.

Timothy A Judge, Jessica B Rodell et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Applied Psychology•2013

Integrating 2 theoretical perspectives on predictor-criterion relationships, the present study developed and tested a hierarchical framework in which each five-factor model (FFM) personality trait comprises 2 DeYoung, Quilty, and Peterson (2007) facets, which in turn comprise 6 Costa and McCrae (1992) NEO facets. Both theoretical perspectives-the bandwidth-fidelity dilemma and construct correspondence-suggest that lower order traits would better …

  • Does it pay to be smart, attractive, or confident (or all three)? Relationships among general mental ability, physical attractiveness, core self-evaluations, and income.

Timothy A Judge, Charlice Hurst et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Applied Psychology•2009

The authors investigated core self-evaluations and educational attainment as mediating mechanisms for the influence of appearance (physical attractiveness) and intelligence (general mental ability) on income and financial strain. The direct effects of core self-evaluations on financial strain, as well as the indirect effects through income, were also considered. Longitudinal data were obtained as part of a national study, the Harvard Study of Hea…
