    Open Access•Sergey Botalov, A D Tairov•ARTICLE•Уфимский археологический вестник•2025

The article is dedicated to the cultural & household complex of livestock farmers in the Medieval Southern Urals (800s–1300s). There is little to no research of nomadic and seminomadic stationary settlements in the Southern Urals steppe. It is associated with virgin land total development in 1950s–1960s. It is less ap- plicable to the late Medieval forest-steppe settlements and hillforts (dated 1200s–1800s) (Chiyalik culture and Yudino culture, M…

The settlement consisted of at least 34 dwellings which were located in five or six p…

  • Caravans in the Steppes of Central Eurasia

    Open Access•A D Tairov•ARTICLE•Povolzhskaya Arkheologiya (The…•2025

The research aims to reconstruct caravan routes through the steppes of Central Eurasia. These caravan routes connect Central Asia with the forest and forest-steppe regions of the Trans-Urals and Western Siberia. Reconstruction of the main caravan routes is based on synthesis of archaeological, written, cartographic sources and toponymic and geographic data. In this case, it is necessary to consider two constant factors: “natural corridors” throug…

  • Correlation of the Composition of Metal and Patina in Bronze Rivets of a Leather Vessel from Kichigino-I

    Open Access•Ivan A Blinov, A D Tairov•ARTICLE•Teoriya i praktika arkheologicheski…•2022

The paper investigates bronze rivets of a leather vessel from the burial ground of Kichigino-I. These products of a small size are intensively corroded, which makes it impossible to strip them down to metal. The study of the patinated surface was carried out by X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF) of patina and relic metal by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results of the analysis showed that the rivets were made of arsenic-tin bronzes with …
