Promoting Preschoolers’ Moral Reasoning Through Board Games and Peer Discussions
This mixed-methods study explored the effects of structured moral dilemma discussions on preschool children’s moral decision-making and moral maturity. Thirty children aged 5 to 6 years were randomly assigned to either an experimental or control group. The experimental group participated in peer-based discussions facilitated through customized board games and a tabletop puppet theater (i.e., symbolic play). Quantitative results indicated signific…
A Deep Recommendation Model Considering the Impact of Time and Individual Diversity
Collaborative filtering (CF) technology has been widely used in recommendation systems. Usually, the latent factor model (LFM) is used as the basis for implementing CF recommendation in deep learning systems. This study differs from previous studies in two respects. First, for different target items, the user embedding vector should be dynamically adjusted according to the content of the target item. Therefore, we have added an attention mechanis…
A capital-based framework for assessing coastal and marine social–ecological dynamics and natural resource management
Human behavior and the environment interact reciprocally. It is necessary to understand social and ecological systems as an integrated co-evolving social–ecological system (SES) to reveal why an environment is in its current condition and how humans have impacted upon and been influenced by the dynamics of natural system. Many societies in coastal and marine SESs rely on marine natural capital for their livelihoods. They have adjusted to changes …

With this film Hou positioned himself securely within a distinguished pantheon of East Asian international art cinema. Not surprisingly, Café Lumiere received meager box-office returns in Taiwan, but this time it d…
