Exploring the socio-economic vulnerability model
Human trafficking remains a pervasive global problem, with women being disproportionately vulnerable due to intersecting socioeconomic and gendered inequalities. While scholars have examined trafficking drivers, a comprehensive account of how these factors interact is limited. This study addresses this gap by investigating the root causes of women’s trafficking in Bangladesh using a multi-stakeholder qualitative approach. It departs from dominant…
Revealing Land-Use Dynamics on Thermal Environment of Riverine Cities Under Climate Variability Using Remote Sensing and Geospatial Techniques
Urbanized riverine cities in southern Asian developing countries face significant challenges in understanding the spatiotemporal thermal impacts of land use/land cover (LULC) changes driven by rapid urbanization and climatic variability. While previous studies have investigated factors influencing land surface temperature (LST) variations, gaps persist in integrating Landsat imagery (7 and 8), meteorological data, and Geographic Information Syste…
Intersectional challenges in post-trafficking reintegration of survivor women of trafficking
This article reviews the available literature to address a fundamental question concerning the impact of intersectional discrimination on women during their post-trafficking reintegration. The problem under examination involves two conceptual terms: 'intersectionality' and 'reintegration'. We scrutinise the existing literature to understand the profound effects of multiple forms of discrimination on trafficked women during their post-trafficking …
Combining First Nations Research Methods with a World Health Organization Guide to Understand Low Childhood Immunisation Coverage in Children in Tamworth, Australia
In Australia, we used the World Health Organization’s Tailoring Immunization Programmes to identify areas of low immunisation coverage in First Nations children. The qualitative study was led by First Nations researchers using a strength-based approach. In 2019, Tamworth had 179 (23%) children who were overdue for immunisations. Yarning sessions were conducted with 50 parents and health providers. Themes that emerged from this research included: …
