    The relations between the Chilean Church and the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet (1973-1990) are often characterized as conflictive.     This article analyses the history of the military clergy and contrasts its role in the Argentine and Chilean dictatorships on the basis of new, previously inaccessible sources.
