Social and genetic diversity in first farmers of central Europe
The Linearbandkeramik (LBK) Neolithic communities were the first to spread farming across large parts of Europe. We report genome-wide data for 250 individuals: 178 individuals from whole-cemetery surveys of the Alföld Linearbankeramik Culture eastern LBK site of Polgár-Ferenci-hát, the western LBK site of Nitra Horné Krškany and the western LBK settlement and massacre site of Asparn-Schletz, as well as 48 LBK individuals from 16 other sites and …
Őskori Település A Borvizek Felett. Régészeti Kutatások Málnásfürdő-Füvenyestetőn (1909–2019)
A délkelet-erdélyi Málnásfürdő a 20. század eleje óta ismert az európai régészet számára. Az egykori fürdőtelep határában a rézkori Erősd–Cucuteni–Tripolje-művelődési kör egyik többrétegű települése található. A lelőhelyen a múlt század második felében folytak módszeres régészeti kutatások (1976–1989). Az újabb ásatásokra és velük párhuzamosan végzett interdiszciplináris vizsgálatokra 2014–2017 között került sor. Jelen tanulmányunkban ezeknek a k…
Provenance study on prehistoric obsidian objects found in Romania (Eastern Carpathian Basin and its neighbouring regions) using Prompt Gamma Activation Analysis
Lithic implements at Ariuşd (Erősd). A preliminary report
Ariuşd (Erősd) is the eponym site of the Copper Age Ariuşd group. The systematic investigation of the site has begun over a hundred years ago. Recent archaeological studies could clarify the layer sequence and the artefacts of the site, especially the pottery finds. Our current paper is aiming at presenting the chipped lithic industry, the largest of its kind within the Ariuşd group. Though this study is a work in progress with several open quest…
