Social Reproduction as Resistance
This article theorizes social reproduction as enacted by feminist social movements in response to state hostility under neoliberal capitalism and authoritarian regimes. Drawing on empirical research from 2018 to 2024, it examines two case studies: assistance in accessing abortion under Poland’s near-total ban introduced in 2020 and activist support for migrants stranded at the Polish-Belarusian border. Prawda Kreuzy. Gwałt, Foucault i polityka
The article addresses the issue of truth-telling or parrhesia in politics. The author draws on Michel Foucault' s late lectures on this topic while simultaneously questioning Foucault' s interpretation of the ancient prototype of parrhesia from Euripides' s play Ion.The analysis highlights Foucault's "masculine arrogance," as he consistently overlooks, obscures, or trivializes the fact that the first instance of parrhesia was a woman's accusation …

Jej głównym celem jest próba pokazania, że sprzeciw wobec „ideologii gender i LGBT” nie może zostać wyjaśniony jedynie jako mechanizm redukcji niepewności w warunkach neoliberalnego kapitalizmu. W politycznym sporze o „gender” ważną sta…

This article explores the dynamics of antigender mobilization in Poland and shows how gender equality projects are interconnected with the rise of opponents of “gender ideology.” It highlights material and discursive links between the local implementation of gender mainstreaming and the antigenderist backlash. The article points out that particular gender equality policies in non-Western settings result from Europeanization and thus are marked by…

It is based on qualitative interviews carried out with gender mainstreaming practitioners, both feminists and state administrators. The article examines factors enabling and hindering successful implementation of gender mainstreaming and discusses its potential positive spin-off effects. The analysed c…
