  • Association Between Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Epigenetic Age Acceleration in a Sample of Twins

Zeyuan Wang, Qin Hui et al.•ARTICLE•Psychosomatic Medicine•2022

OBJECTIVE: Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has been related to accelerated biological aging processes, but objective evidence for this association is limited. DNA methylation (DNAm) age acceleration is a novel measure of biological aging that may help clarify if PTSD is related to biological aging processes. We aim to examine whether PTSD is associated with biological aging using a comprehensive set of DNAm age acceleration markers and to wh…

OBJECTIVE: Mental stress-induced myocardial ischemia (MSIMI) is a common phenomenon in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), but contemporary studies of its prognostic significance and its underlying pathophysiology are limited. METHODS: We prospectively enrolled patients with confirmed CAD in the Mental Stress Ischemia Prognosis Study (MIPS) between 2011 and 2014. All patients underwent mental stress testing using a standardized public sp…

  • Coronary heart disease mortality in China

Open Access•Guohong Jiang, Dezheng Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Revista Panamericana de Salud…•2012

From 1999 to 2008, CHD mortality in Tianjin varied by sex, age, and urban versus rural area of residence. Future research to identify CHD risk factors and the populations most vulnerable to the disease is recommended to help strengthen CHD prevention. Strategies for CHD control similar to those used in various developed countries in the Americas and Europe should be developed to reduce the CHD burden in China
