  • The Impact of Formal One-to-One Mentoring Upon Vulnerable Young People

    Open Access•Tana Cuming, Laura Hoffman et al.•ARTICLE•Youth & Society•2026

This systematic review synthesizes evidence from 24 empirical studies to examine the impact of formal one-to-one mentoring on the wellbeing and development of vulnerable young people. Guided by an ecological framework informed by Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Theory, the review identifies three interrelated themes: relational processes within the mentoring dyad, program structures that support relationship stability, and outcomes across psy…

  • Methodological Components for Evaluating Intervention Effectiveness of SOS Feeding Approach

Open Access•Sarah Schoen, Rachel Balderrama et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2025

Background/Objectives : There is a paucity of research that explores the effectiveness of the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding. The purpose of this feasibility study was to evaluate the necessary components for the implementation of a treatment effectiveness study on the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding. The primary aims were to develop a fidelity measure, determine the feasibility of video coding, create an obse…

  • Mothers’ experiences of engaging in blended online learning in higher education

Tana Cuming, Sarah Verdon et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Lifelong…•2023•Cited by: 1•References: 55

In order to realise career and personal goals, as well as financial autonomy and security, many women are pursuing higher education alongside the role of motherhood. Student-mothers face many challenges when engaging in higher education, and many fail to complete their studies. This phenomenological study applies a feminist lens to the choices, motivations and barriers experienced by student-mothers. Data from two focus groups were analysed induc…

  • Inhibition of the 26 S Proteasome by Polyubiquitin Chains Synthesized to Have Defined Lengths

Open Access•F Rojas, Julia Piotrowski et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Biological Chemistry•1997

Ubiquitin is a covalent signal that targets cellular proteins to the 26 S proteasome. Multiple ubiquitins can be ligated together through the formation of isopeptide bonds between Lys48 and Gly76 of successive ubiquitins. Such a polyubiquitin chain constitutes a highly effective proteolytic targeting signal, but its mode of interaction with the proteasome is not well understood. Experiments to address this issue have been limited by difficulties …
