  • Standing Against Bullying

Open Access•Maria Grazia Lo Cricchio, Valentina Zambuto et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2026

Bystanders’ decision to intervene in defense of victims plays a fundamental role in reducing bullying. Previous research has demonstrated that teachers’ support for victims and school connectedness encourage bystanders’ defending behavior. This study examines the longitudinal associations among these variables within a comprehensive model testing for additive, partial, or fully mediated effects. A total of 363 adolescents (34% females; age M = 13…

  • The Impact of School Well-Being on Educational Identity During School Transition

Open Access•Valentina Levantini, Lisa De Luca et al.•ARTICLE•Identity•2026•References: 51

This longitudinal study examined how trajectories of school well-being across four years influence educational identity in early adolescence. A sample of 452 Italian students (50.9% female, Mage = 8.58, SD = 0.68) was followed from 3rd to 8th grade. School well-being was evaluated at each time point, while educational identity was measured at the final time point. Using a person-centered approach, three profiles emerged: the first (12.17%) showed…

  • Posttraumatic growth trajectories among adolescents during Covid-19 pandemic

Open Access•Benedetta Taddei, Lisa De Luca et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2024

The study aims to examine longitudinal trajectories of Post Traumatic Growth (PTG) during the COVID-19 pandemic in a sample of 190 (54.70% female) early adolescents with a mean age of 11.34 years ( SD = 0.82). The influence of the time-invariant predictor - resilience traits - and time-varying covariates - COVID-19 related stress and systems life satisfaction - on the trajectories was further examined. The latent growth curve analysis showed a si…

  • Cybervictimization and Online Sexual Harassment

Open Access•Angela Franceschi, Lisa De Luca et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2024

Online sexual harassment and cybervictimization are related phenomena with a co-occurrence of around 22%; being a victim of cybervictimization is positively associated with being a victim of OSH-P. However, risk factors are different: cybervictimization is more easily explained by social and contextual factors, while online sexual harassment is explained by individual factors

  • Identification of Social Status through Grave Goods Using a Biocultural Approach in Interpreting the Alpine Context of Borca Di Cadore, Belluno, Veneto, Italy (18th–19th Centuries)

Open Access•Lisa De Luca, Alessandro Asta et al.•ARTICLE•Heritage•2024•References: 3

The cemetery of the Church of Santi Simone e Giuda in Borca di Cadore (Belluno province, Veneto region, Italy) was excavated between 2021 and 2023 as part of an archaeological intervention. The excavation area yielded a total of 21 graves dating back to the 18th–19th century; this was intriguing due to the presence of grave goods and taphonomic indicators that allowed these burials to be interpreted as clothed burials. This contribution examines …

  • Co-development of internalizing symptoms and regulatory emotional self-efficacy in adolescence

Open Access•A T Skinner, Lisa De Luca et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted opportunities for adolescents to progress through a typical developmental trajectory of adjustment and self-regulation. Adolescents across many contexts have shown an increase in adjustment difficulties during the pandemic compared to pre-pandemic levels. Utilizing data collected from 830 Italian adolescents from one time-point just prior to when pandemic restrictions were enacted, and then at two additional time-p…

  • Reciprocal associations between peer problems and non‐suicidal self‐injury throughout adolescence

Open Access•Lisa De Luca, Matteo Giletta et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Child Psychology and…•2022

BACKGROUND: Peer problems have emerged as important predictors of Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) development during adolescence. However, the possibility that adolescents who engage in NSSI may, in turn, be at increased risk for experiencing difficulties with their peers has rarely been examined. This study investigated the reciprocal associations between peer problems (e.g. peer victimization, friendship stress and loneliness) and NSSI througho…

  • Non-Suicidal Self-Injury in Adolescence

Open Access•Lisa De Luca, Matteo Giletta et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Youth and Adolescence•2022•Cited by: 1•References: 54

For many adolescents, the COVID-19 pandemic represents a uniquely challenging period, and concerns have been raised about whether COVID-19-related stress may increase the risk for self-injurious behaviors among adolescents. This study examined the impact of pre-existing vulnerabilities on the occurrence and frequency of Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) through COVID-19-related stress, and whether the impact of COVID-19-related stress on NSSI was b…
