Depression, danger, dependency, denial: Work with poor, black, single parents
The particular needs and problems of a segment of a poor, black population, encountered in a clinic setting and made up mainly of single mothers, are considered from the viewpoint of a white middle-class clinician, the sort of professional most often in the position of serving this clientele. Case vignettes are presented, and implications for service geared specifically to this population are offered
