Sole dermatoglyphics in the forest Nentsy, Nganasans, and Chukchi: Dermatoglyphic distances
Sole dermatoglyphics of the aborigines of Northwestern Siberia, Taimir, and Kamchatka are presented in this paper. The distance coefficients based on various combinations of dermatoglyphic traits depending on their heritability were estimated. These were compared with the overall dermatoglyphic distance coefficients as well as with the genetic (dermatoglyphic) distance coefficients based on six blood groups (ABO, MNSs, P, Fy, Jk, Kp). Genetic int…
Principal components method and nonmetric two‐dimensional scaling method for quantitative dermatoglyphic traits of the taimir aborigines
The quantitative dermatoglyphic traits of the Taimir aborigines have been studied in this paper. The correlation matrix of the traits was analyzed by a nonmetric two‐dimensional scaling method and by a principal components method. Comparative contribution of palmar and digital traits variation to the principal components is under discussion
Reindeer Chukchi and Siberian Eskimos: Studies on blood groups, serum proteins, and red cell enzymes with regard to genetic heterogeneity
Phenotype and allelic frequencies for ABO, MNSs, P, Rh, Kell, Duffy, and Diego blood groups, as well as for transferrins (Tf), haptoglobins (Hp), phosphoglucomutase 1 (PGM 1 ), adenylate kinase (AK), 6‐phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (PGD), and acid phosphatase (AcP) are described in 9–10 adjoining populations of Reindeer Chukchi. Additionally, one of three presently existing territorial subgroups of Siberian Eskimos was studied. The total sample …
Dermatoglyphics of the nganasans and the forest entsy from the Taimir Peninsula
Dermatoglyphic data on 17 traits (digital arches, ulnar loops, whorls, patterns on the hypothenar and thenar/I,II,III, and IV interdigital areas, main line C absence and its incompleteness, mean digital ridge‐count, a–b, b–c, and c–d ridge–counts, atd angle, pattern intensity index, and main line index) are presented in this paper for 194 males and 224 females from the Taimir Peninsula. Also presented is a population analysis of the Taimir aborig…
