  • Validation of candidate SNPs and CpGs for human face prediction

Open Access•Wojciech Branicki, Maria Wrobel et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropologiai Közlemények•2026

Background: Human facial genetics remains challenging due to the complexity of facial morphology, its highly polygenic basis, and the combined influence of genetics, environment, age, and lifestyle on facial appearance. Objective: To develop predictors of human facial appearance that could aid facial reconstruction in forensic anthropology and predict facial appearance using DNA-based methods alone. Subjects and methods: Data from ~800 individual…

  • Ancient genomes indicate population replacement in Early Neolithic Britain

Open Access•Selina Brace, Yoan Diekmann et al.•ARTICLE•Nature Ecology & Evolution•2019

  • Sinnentstellte Verwendung von Pressezitaten zum Thema Erweiterte DNA‐Analyse in der Forensik

    Open Access•Manfred Kayser•ARTICLE•Berichte zur Wissenschaftsgeschicht…•2018•References: 1

  • The attitude of grassland farmers towards nature conservation and agri-environment measures—A survey-based analysis

    Open Access•Verena Hammes, Markus Eggers et al.•ARTICLE•Land Use Policy•2016•Cited by: 8•References: 33

  • Antiquity and diversity of aboriginal Australian Y ‐chromosomes

    Open Access•Nano Nagle, Kaye N Ballantyne et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•2016•Cited by: 1•References: 79

OBJECTIVE: Understanding the origins of Aboriginal Australians is crucial in reconstructing the evolution and spread of Homo sapiens as evidence suggests they represent the descendants of the earliest group to leave Africa. This study analyzed a large sample of Y-chromosomes to answer questions relating to the migration routes of their ancestors, the age of Y-haplogroups, date of colonization, as well as the extent of male-specific variation. MET…

  • Indian ocean crossroads

    Open Access•Jeroen Pijpe, A De Voogt et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•2013•References: 45

The Maldives are an 850 km‐long string of atolls located centrally in the northern Indian Ocean basin. Because of this geographic situation, the present‐day Maldivian population has potential for uncovering genetic signatures of historic migration events in the region. We therefore studied autosomal DNA‐, mitochondrial DNA‐, and Y‐chromosomal DNA markers in a representative sample of 141 unrelated Maldivians, with 119 from six major settlements. …

  • Denisova Admixture and the First Modern Human Dispersals into Southeast Asia and Oceania

Open Access•David Reich, Nick Patterson et al.•ARTICLE•The American Journal of Human…•2011

  • Updated comprehensive phylogenetic tree of global human mitochondrial DNA variation

    Open Access•Mannis van Oven, Manfred Kayser•ARTICLE•Human Mutation•2009

Human mitochondrial DNA is widely used as tool in many fields including evolutionary anthropology and population history, medical genetics, genetic genealogy, and forensic science. Many applications require detailed knowledge about the phylogenetic relationship of mtDNA variants. Although the phylogenetic resolution of global human mtDNA diversity has greatly improved as a result of increasing sequencing efforts of complete mtDNA genomes, an upda…

  • Y-Chromosomal Diversity in Europe Is Clinal and Influenced Primarily by Geography, Rather than by Language

Open Access•Zoë H Rosser, Tatiana Zerjal et al.•ARTICLE•The American Journal of Human…•2000
