  • Post-traumatic stress and future substance use outcomes

    Open Access•Henri M Garrison‐Desany, Jacquelyn L Meyers et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2024

PTSD symptoms were highly associated with tobacco and alcohol use, while the association with prospective cannabis use is not clear. Findings suggest that understanding the different risk stratification that occurs can aid in tailoring interventions to populations at greatest risk to best mitigate the comorbidity between PTSD symptoms and future substance use outcomes. We demonstrate that this is particularly salient for tobacco use and, to some …

  • Longitudinal associations between five factor model and impulsive personality traits and PTSD symptoms

    Open Access•Courtland S Hyatt, Preethi J Reddi et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Research in Personality•2024•References: 57

  • Estimation of body fat in female rhesus monkeys

    Open Access•Margaret L Walker, Susan M Schwartz et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•1984•Cited by: 8•References: 14

Measurement of height (crown–rump length), body weight, and abdominal subcutaneous fat depth, based on skinfold thickness taken from 13 female rhesus monkeys comprising two age groups were correlated with body fat values derived from tritiated water determinations of total body water. The manner with which each measure was related to percent body fat differed as a function of age of the animal. In the young, nulliparous females, crown–rump length…

  • Brief Report

    Open Access•Paul I Musey, Delwood C Collins et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Primatology•1983

The metabolism of estradiol‐17β is primarily an oxidative process at either carbon‐2 or carbon‐16 in the human. The objective of this study was to determine the relative importance of these two oxygenation pathways in the chimpanzee. The rate of oxidation of estradiol‐17β at each position was determined by measuring the release of tritium into body water from carbon‐2 or carbon‐16. [2‐ 3 H]‐Estradiol‐17β or [16‐ 3 H]‐estradiol‐17β was injected in…
