  • Home is Where Mamma Is

    S Banerjee•ARTICLE•Women s Studies•2010•References: 5

    Open Access•Kalamegam Gauthaman, S Banerjee et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2004

  • Biochemical studies of some cell wall associated enzymes in malathion treated germinating seeds of Vigna sinesis (L)

Sajal Chakraborti, I Chatterjee et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•1983

Malathion treatment of the seeds of Vigna sinensis (L), above 50 ppm decreased the seedling growth and respiration rate; it is accompanied by a significant alteration in the activities of different cell wall associated hydrolytic enzymes in the roots of the 72 hour germinated seeds. On the simultaneous application of either of the plant hormones (IAA or GA3) with different concentrations of malathion, it was found that there was a trend to overco…

  • Biochemical studies of some hydrolytic enzymes in malathion treated germinating seeds of Vigna sinensis (l)

Sajal Chakraborti, Kusal K Das et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•1981

Studies have been carried out on the different hydrolytic enzymes of the germinating seeds of V. sinensis (L) by exposing them to various concentrations of malathion (O, O dimethyl phosphorodithioate of diethyl mercaptosuccinate), an organophosphorus insecticide. At 50 ppm the insecticide induces the seedling growth and at 400 ppm caused a significant inhibition. On simultaneous application of either of the plant hormones, i.e., IAA, GA3 and kine…

  • Malathion exposed seeds of Vigna Sinensis

Sajal Chakraborti, Kusal K Das et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•1979

Plasma membrane bound ATPase of Vigna sinensis (L) is activated by Mg+2 and is further stimulated by monovalent cations like Na+/K+, at a definite pH and substrate concentration. The true substrate for the enzyme was Mg++‐ATP. Ca++ cannot replace Mg++ so far as the activation of this enzyme is concerned. Activation does not alter much when treated with ouabain. These results support the concept that cation transport at the plasma membrane of root…
