  • Succession and stable isotope composition of gastropods in Holocene semi-arid alluvial sequences (Bardenas Reales, Ebro Basin, NE Spain)

    Open Access•Xabier Murelaga-Bereicua, X MURELAGA et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2012•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 9

Three alluvial units, ranging from the middle to late Holocene in age, were distinguished in Bardenas Reales Natural Park (Ebro Basin, NE Spain) based on morphosedimentary analysis and radiocarbon data. In this sensitive Mediterranean alluvial system, the succession and isotopic composition of gastropods greatly contribute to establishing the prevailing palaeoenvironmental conditions. The oldest unit (4763±87 to 2848±55 cal. yr BP) represents flu…

  • Non-invasive portable instrumentation to study Palaeolithic rock paintings

Open Access•Maitane Olivares, Kepa Castro et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Archaeological Science•2012•Citada por: 15•Referencias: 1

  • Petrographic and Geochemical Evidence for Long‐standing Supply of Raw Materials in Neolithic Pottery (Mendandia Site, Spain)

    Open Access•L A ORTEGA, M C ZULUAGA et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeometry•2010•Citada por: 3•Referencias: 21

Pottery from the Neolithic Mendandia site has been studied. The radiocarbon dating of the site corresponds to a range of dates from 7488–7546 cal bc to 5283–5437 cal bc : the first occurrence of pottery is dated at 5968–6040 cal bc for the lower level III, and up to 5386–5560 cal bc for level II. The antiquity of the potsherds places them within the oldest pottery production sequences in the Iberian Peninsula, which adds to the interest of this s…
