  • Psychological characteristics of males with secondary erectile failure

  • Ejaculatory Disorders

    Open Access•Dennis J Munjack, Pamela H Kanno et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1978

While a substantial amount of clinical opinion exists in regard to the syndrome of premature and retarded ejaculation, few objective psychometric data are available. In an effort to obtain such objective information, individuals who called the Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic at the LAC-USC Medical Center seeking help for a “primary” complaint of premature or retarded ejaculation were given a psychological battery, including the Eysenck Personality I…

  • Effects of Feedback on Self-Reinforcing Behavior in Relation to Self-Acceptance

    Open Access•L Jerome Oziel, Peter T Berwick•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1974

96 high and low self-accepting Ss were divided into 8 treatment groups: (a) a low group who received facilitating feedback for self-reinforcing responses; (b) a group comparable to the previous one but who also were given positive feedback on social comparison; (c) a low group who received inhibiting feedback for negative self-reinforcement responses; and (d) a group of low-control Ss. The remaining four groups were Ss high in self-acceptance; th…

  • General and Specific Perceived Locus of Control in Alcoholics

Open Access•L Jerome Oziel, Frederick W Obitz et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1972

50 alcoholics were administered the I-E scale and a specially constructed scale to determine the perceived locus of control for their drinking behavior. It was hypothesized and found that alcoholics perceive themselves in control of their behavior in general and of their drinking behavior in particular. Theoretical implications of these findings were discussed

  • Repression-Sensitization and Stress Effects on Maudsley Personality Inventory Scores

    Open Access•Roy H Cohen, L Jerome Oziel•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1972

Contrary to expectations, 20 sensitizers did not increase their neuroticism scores as a function of induced situational stress. Situational stress did, however, significantly increase extraversion scores of the sensitizers. It was hypothesized that neuroticism scores measure “baseline anxiety” which is relatively unaffected by situational stress. Extraversion scores, however, were hypothesized to be more responsive to situationally induced anxiet…

  • Effects of Instructional Set on Production of Creative Responses

Open Access•L Jerome Oziel, Laurel D Oziel et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1972

Two groups of 40 highly creative Ss and 2 groups ( ns = 40) who scored low in creativity on the Revised Art Scale of the Welsh Figure Preference Test were given the test again under standard instructions or a set to be creative. Highly creative Ss remained high but did not improve, low initial scorers increased creativity scores under the set to be creative. Analysis showed level of creativity and instructions as well as their interaction contrib…

  • Varied Information Levels and Accuracy of Person Perception

    Open Access•Frederick W Obitz, L Jerome Oziel•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1972

200 Ss judged 4 stimulus persons in 20 experimental conditions with varying amounts and categories of information given them. The greatest judging accuracy was obtained when total information input of different amounts and categories was greatest. Adding more input did not result in greater accuracy of judgment with all stimulus persons, however, and actually reduced accuracy for some stimulus persons. Further, considering the disproportionate am…
