Online child sexual victimization and associated health risk behaviours and mental disorders
Online child sexual victimization (OCSV) is increasingly prevalent, but little evidence exists about associated health outcomes. This study investigates whether two types of OCSV – nonconsensual sharing of sexual images, and sexual solicitation by an adult – are associated with health risk behaviours and mental disorders. Unavoidable, unwanted and uncomfortable
Research has shown that unintentionally encountering online pornography is a common experience for children and teenagers. Drawing on six one-hour online text-based focus groups with 32 Australian teenagers, this study explored what it is like for them to unintentionally encounter online pornography, and what they want in relation to these encounters. Thematic analysis of the data revealed that Australian teenagers feel that they are frequently e…
Young People’s Intentional and Unintentional Encounters with Internet Pornography in Australia

In this survey among primarily non-addiction-trained prescribers, a disparity was shown for prescribing naltrexone and in knowledge barriers between staff in internal/family medicine and psychiatry. There exist opportunities for education and quality improvement that promote the prescribing of naltrexone for alcohol use disorder by non-addiction specialists
Factors Associated with Breaches of Home Detention and Returns to Custody Post-Home Detention in South Australia
In 2016, the South Australian Government proposed expanding the use of Home Detention (‘HD’) sentences. A key concern of government and community alike regarding HD sentences has to do with the eligibility of prisoners for the sanction and, more specifically, the likelihood that individuals serving HD sentences will pose a threat to public safety when they are serving their sentences in the community. The aim of the current study was to establish…
