  • Synchronization Stability Model of Complex Brain Networks

Open Access•Guimei Yin, Haifang Li et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2020

In this paper, from the perspective of complex network dynamics we investigated the formation of the synchronization state of the brain networks. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory of complex networks, a synchronous steady-state model suitable for application to complex dynamic brain networks was proposed. The synchronization stability problem of brain network state equation was transformed into a convex optimization problem with Block Coordi…

  • Dysfunction of categorization of emotional faces in people with schizophrenia

Open Access•Guimei Yin, Haifang Li et al.•ARTICLE•Social Behavior and Personality…•2020

People with schizophrenia often show deficits in recognizing facial emotions, which contributes to poor social functioning. In this experiment we directly investigated how 20 people being treated for schizophrenia categorized emotional faces. In a control group of healthy people who had no mental illness, happy faces were classified faster than sad faces, that is, there was a positive classification advantage. However, this phenomenon was not pre…

  • Reward, Motivation, and Emotion Systems Associated With Early-Stage Intense Romantic Love

Arthur Aron, Helen Fisher et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Neurophysiology•2005

Early-stage romantic love can induce euphoria, is a cross-cultural phenomenon, and is possibly a developed form of a mammalian drive to pursue preferred mates. It has an important influence on social behaviors that have reproductive and genetic consequences. To determine which reward and motivation systems may be involved, we used functional magnetic resonance imaging and studied 10 women and 7 men who were intensely “in love” from 1 to 17 mo. Pa…
