  • Levels of Recovery Scale (Lors): Psychometric Properties of a New Instrument to Assess Psychotic Symptoms and Patient Awareness

    Open Access•Donald P Corriveau, Sharon Sousa•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•2013

This study developed norms and examined psychometric properties of the LORS, an instrument designed to assess symptoms of psychotic illness and patients' awareness of their symptoms. Participants were 90 patients with psychotic illnesses. The LORS was completed by trained clinicians (LORS-Clinician Scale) and patients themselves (LORS-Patient). To assess patients' self-awareness of psychotic symptoms, a derived scale (LORS-Discrepancy) was comput…

  • The Corriveau-Kelly Death Anxiety Scale

Open Access•Michelle Nadeau Kelly, Donald P Corriveau•ARTICLE•OMEGA - Journal of Death and Dying•1995

The purpose of this study was to develop a more reliable and sensitive death anxiety scale. In the first study, Templer's Death Anxiety Scale and a newly-developed scale, the Corriveau-Kelly Death Anxiety Scale, were administered to 108 psychology students at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. Test-retest reliability coefficients for Templer's scale and the new instrument were .85 and .95 respectively while internal consistency coefficie…

  • Item format and the structure of the buss-durkee hostility inventory

    Open Access•Wayne F Velicer, Joseph Michael Govia et al.•ARTICLE•Aggressive Behavior•1985•References: 33

The Buss-Durkee Hostility Inventory is a widely employed multidimensional measure of aggression. Two studies, each involving the administration of both two-choice and seven-choice response format versions of the instrument, were conducted to determine if (1) the theoretical scales could be reproduced empirically, (2) the change in response format either changes or improves the structure, and (3) the structure of either response format replicates …

  • Social Facilitation following Response Prevention in the Rat

    Open Access•Donald P Corriveau, Katherine Contildes et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1978

Baum (1969) found that the presence of a nonfearful rat during response prevention facilitated fear reduction. However, Baum used the problematic “reduction in the conditioned avoidance response” as a measure of fear. The present study re-examined the social facilitation effect by examining approach behavior as an index of fear. 60 male rats either received or did not receive response prevention. These treatments were presented either alone or in…

  • Serum testosterone and sexual activity and interest in men

Open Access•Walter Armin Brown, Peter M Monti et al.•ARTICLE•Archives of Sexual Behavior•1978•Cited by: 7•References: 10

  • Orthogonal Components of Reported Male Sexual Behavior

    Open Access•Donald P Corriveau, Walter A Brown et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1977

In constructing an inventory that would yield a general measure of sexual performance and sexual interest, responses of 101 male paid volunteers were subjected to a principal component analysis. No general factor of sexual activity was found. Instead the results indicated that various components of sexual performance occur independently. Implications for the assessment of sexual behavior in basic and applied research were presented
