Marx’s Pedagogies, the Party, and China: The Open Dialectic of Research and Presentation in Theory and Historical Praxis
While pedagogies emanating from the Marxist tradition have been proposed and debated, this essay argues that Marx had clear pedagogical logics of his own that he laid out by articulating the differences between inquiry and presentation or, said differently, between studying and learning. A critique of the “socio‐ecological fix” and towards revolutionary rupture
Through a review of the literature that develops the “socio‐ecological fix” concept, this paper makes two arguments. First, it argues that the concept is trapped in a specific historical understanding of 20th‐century capitalism that goes through “crisis” and “fixes.” Second, the paper argues that this understanding of history largely ignores the potential for revolutionary ruptures that create social systems entirely at odds with capital.
