  • Uncertainty, ambiguity and adaptive flood forecasting

    Open Access•Robert Wasson, R J Wasson•ARTICLE•Policy and Society•2016•Cited by: 1•References: 3

Reliable long-term flood forecasts are needed because floods, among environmental disasters worldwide, do most damage to lives and property, a problem that is likely to increase as climate changes. The objective of this paper is to critically examine scientific approaches to flood forecasting under deep uncertainty and ambiguity as input to flood policy, and to explore alternative approaches to the development of better forecasts along with the n…

  • Vegetational and seasonal climatic changes since the last full glacial in the Thar Desert, northwestern India

Open Access•Gyanraj Singh, Robert Wasson et al.•ARTICLE•Review of Palaeobotany and…•1990

  • Large‐scale patterns of dune type, spacing and orientation in the Australian continental dunefield

    Robert Wasson, R J Wasson et al.•ARTICLE•Australian Geographer•1988•Cited by: 3•References: 11

As a contribution to understanding the morphogenesis of the Australian continental dunefield, maps are presented of the main types of dunes, their orientation and mean spacing using the best available sources of data. Major features on previous maps of the Australian dunefield are verified and new information has been obtained. The anticlockwise whorl of dunes has been found to close on both its eastern and western ends. Dunes extend as far north…
