Suffragist Alice Paul's Memoirs
Alice Paul, the recently deceasedl head of the National Woman's Party, led this militant group to victory in the battle for woman's suffrage from 1912 to 1920. Immediately after the passage of the woman's suffrage amendment in 1920, Paul created the Equal Rights Amendment and led the campaign for its passage until, with other groups joining the effort, it finally passed Congress in 1972--almost fifty years after it was first introduced
