The reverend Charles G. Finney and the post civil war antimasonic crusade
Charles Grandison Finney, 1792–1875, by 1831 had become the premier American evangelist. Later serving as president (1851–1865) of Oberlin College, Finney became involved in the post-Civil War Antimasonic crusade led by the Reverend Jonathan Blanchard, founding president of Wheaton College.
