  • The volunteer and the coerced subject

    Robert H Schappe•ARTICLE•American Psychologist•1972

  • Active vs Passive Interpolated Activity in STM

    Open Access•James L Bruning, Robert H Schappe et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1966

  • The experimenter effect

    B L Kintz, Dennis J Delprato et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Bulletin•1965

  • Type of Interpolated Activity and Short-Term Memory

    Open Access•James L Bruning, Robert H Schappe•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1965

This study was designed to determine the effects of retention interval (0, 4, 8, or 16 sec.), trials, and type of interpolated material (nothing, numbers, consonants, or CVCs) on STM. The results indicated that: (1) retention is inversely related to similarity of test and interpolated items, and (2) similarity interacts with both length of the retention interval and the number of practice trials

  • Type of Interpolated Activity and Short-Term Memory

    Open Access•James L Bruning, Robert H Schappe•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1965

as those used previously, with the following exceptions: (1) Fifteen Ss were presented a total of nine pairs of low meaningful CVCs by the paired-associate method. (2) Retention was measured as it was affected by the three types of interpolated materials (nothing, numbers, and CVCs) in combination with the three retention intervals (0, 8, and 16 sec.). The order of presentation of the materials was again counterbalanced and three trials were give…
