Significant positive correlations have been found between the proportion of the US population constituted by 15- to 24-yr.-olds and incidence of homicide and suicide deaths in this age group. Test Anxiety Levels of Short and Long Sleeping College Students
To clarify the interpretation of a difference in anxiety level that Hicks and Pellegrini (1977) had reported as being incongruent with Hartmann's (1973) description of the personalities of short and long sleepers, groups of 20 short- and long-sleeping college students were tested using a battery of anxiety tests which featured two test anxiety scales. Fluid Intelligence Levels of Short- and Long-Sleeping College Students
As a means of validating E. Hartmann's clinical observations that suggest differences in reasoning ability between habitual short and long sleepers (favoring the latter), the responses of 73 short and 56 long sleepers to a measure of fluid intelligence were compared. Congruent with Hartmann's observations, the long sleepers were significantly higher than the short sleepers in level of fluid intelligence
Anxiety Levels of Short and Long Sleepers
As a test of the hypothesis that consistent short sleepers tend to be non-worriers while consistent long sleepers tend to worry, the anxiety levels of 17 short and 17 long sleepers were compared. The study tested the comparative consensual validity of each member of a pair of contradictory common sensical expressions concerning intimate relationships.
