Bess Carey's Petrarch. Newly discovered Elizabethan sonnets
An allusion by Thomas Nashe in The Terrors of the Night (1594) has led scholars to believe that Lady Elizabeth Carev, nee Spencer, made some translations from Petrarch, now lost.
